Youth Programs

The Slater Public Library provides a variety of free programs for all ages. Please see our calendar for a complete listing of all upcoming programs.

 

1st and 3rd Tuesdays at 10:00 AM

Ages: Birth – 24 months

Our newest programs are early literacy programs we designed to help you give your child their best start at fostering a love for learning and books.

Join us on the 1st and 3rd Tuesdays at 10 a.m. for our Slater Sprouts baby bounce storytime!  For children up to 2 years, this interactive lap-sit program is for infants and young toddlers with their caregivers to enjoy a time of interaction through songs, bouncing and stories.  We will also have a time of play and exploration.

Pair this with our Slater Sprouts reading incentive program and watch your sprout grow!

Wednesdays at 10:00 AM

Ages: Toddlers – Preschoolers (infants also welcome)

Join us on Wednesday mornings for Slater Tots.  Come play and explore with our variety of age-appropriate toys and activities and then join us for a fun storytime with books, fingerplays, music and movement activities.  Can’t sit still?  Don’t worry, your child can keep playing in the children’s area and join us as they are ready. We will finish up with a craft and snack.  

 

Wednesdays on early-out days from 1:30 – 3:00 PM

Drop-off program for Grades K-2

Our Early-Out Program provides programming for children in grades K-2nd on early-out Wednesdays.  We have a variety of activities from games, movies, crafts, LEGOs, and more.

Registration is required, and transportation is the responsibility of the parent/guardian.

Join us every Saturday from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. for our STEM Saturday program.  STEM toys and materials will be available for learning through play and exploration.  Occasionally, we will have additional special activities including art and crafts.
